Watu wengi hawawezi kunywa chai au uji bila kutia sukari. Wanatumia sukari kwa hamu na ghamu bila kutambua kuwa hiyo ni sumu wanayojiongezea mwilini.


Ni ukweli usiopingika kuwa wazee wetu wa jadi waliishi muda mrefu wakiwa na siha njema kuliko sisi. Hii ni kwa sababu waliishi katika kipindi ambacho sukari inayotengenezwa viwandani haikuweko. Iwapo ilikuweko, ilikuwa bidhaa ya wateule wa ungwana kutengenezea vitu kama keki, mahamri na vitumbua. Akina yahe hawangeweza kuigharamia.


Watafiti wa masuala ya afya wamegundua kuwa sukari inayotayarishwa viwandani sasa hivi haina virutubishi vyovyote. Hali kadhalika, utaratibu wa viwandani wa kutayarisha sukari ili iwe nyeupe na kuichuja huharibu virutubishi vinavyoweza kuwa muhimu mwilini. Umuhimu wa sukari wakausaza kuwa kutia ladha tamu tu. Umuhimu huu hauwezi kulinganishwa na madhara yanayoletwa na sukari hii. Baada ya kusagika mwilini, sukari hii huacha masalio ya sidi mwilini yenye sumu inayoathiri siha.

Matumizi ya sukari kwa wingi husababisha madhara mbalimbali mwilini. Huchangia kuoza na kuharibika kwa meno. Sukari nyeupe imehusishwa na ongezeko la maradhi ya kisukari, moyo na hipoglisimoia au upungufu wa sukari mwilini. Matumizi holela ya sukari huleta kipandauso au ugonjwa wa ghafla wa kuumwa na upande mmoja wa kichwa unaoambatana na kichefuchefu, kutapika na matatizo ya kuona. Sukari pia huleta maradhi ya ngozi na figo, pamoja na ongezeko la kemikali iitwayo kolestroli, ambayo ni ufuta unaonata na hutokana na kutoyeyuka kwa mafuta yote mwilini. Kemikali hii inaporundikana moyoni, hufanya mishipa inayotoa damu moyoni na kuisambaza mwilini kuwa myembamba na sugu. Moyo hulazimika kusukuma damu kwa nguvu na huenda ukachoka na kukoma kufanya kazi.


Wataalamu wa lishe bora wamependekeza ulaji wa vyakula kama nafaka, matunda, mboga na miwa ambavyo vimejaa sukari asilia. Fauka ya hayo, sukari inayotokana katika asali ni bora zaidi kwa mwili wa mwanadamu. Asali huwa na sukari asilia, vitamini, madini na amino asidi. Hivi vyote huwa na manufaa mbalimbali mwilini. Asali huupa mwili nishati inayohitajika kuendesha shughuli za viungo.Licha ya hayo, asali huchangamsha mwili. Asali huwa na kemikali ambazo huwasaidia watoto kukua vizuri. Huweza kuzidisha kiwango cha himoglobini, hivyo kupunguza uwezekano wa watoto kuwa na anemia (upungufu wa damu). Asali husaidi katika usagaji wa chakula iwapo itatumiwa kabla ya mlo. Matumizi ya kijiko kimoja cha asali kila siku husaidia mwili kujikinga dhidi ya magonjwa ya kukohoa. Asali husaidia pia kuondoa harufu mbaya kinywani.


Asali inaweza kutumiwa kujipaka. Inapotumika kwa njia hii, hutunza ngozi na kuifanya ing'are, huondoa vipele na ugumu wa ngozi, pamoja na kutibu kule ngozi ilikokatikakatika. Hali kadhalika asali hutibu vidonda. Viwanda vingi vya vipodozi vilevile hutumia asali kama malighafi muhimu katika utengenezaji wa bidhaa hizo.

2.UFUPISHO (Alama 15)

Soma taarifa ifuatayo kisha ufupishe kwa mujibu wa maswali yanayofuatia.

Babu na nyanya waliweza kufundisha vijana mambo mengi na watu walikuwa wamenyooka sawasawa. Ilikuwa wajibu wa kila mzee kupitisha hekima yake kwa vijana kila mara kwa njia ya methali, vitendawili, shirikina na hadithi zenye mafundisho maalumu. Mambo yote hayo yaliwafanya vijana kuwaheshimu wakubwa kwa wadogo na watu wa marika yao. Watu walipokutana na wageni, waliwaheshimu nao waliheshimiwa. Ilieleweka kwamba neno 'heshima' lilikuwa na maana kwa kila binadamu na walijua kwamba heshima hainunuliki. Ilikuwa ni nadra sana kusikia zogo limetokea mahali popote.


Vijana wengi wa siku hizo walikuwa wakisifika kwa bidii, uaminifu, ushirikiano, utu, ukarimu, unyenyekevu, utiifu na upole. Wasichana waliokosa sifa nyingi kati ya hizo walikosa wachumba. Hakuna aliyeweza kuficha tabia yake mbaya kwa muda mrefu kwa kuwa kila kijana pamoja na ndugu zake walifanya uchunguzi wa kutosha kabla ya kukubali posa. Upelelezi huu wa tabia ulianza tu mara mtu aliposema kuwa anataka jiko. Watu hawakujali ulemavu wa mtu na aghalabu waliokuwa na kasoro za kimwili waliweza kuoa au kuolewa baada ya kuonekana kwamba wametimiza sifa zilizotajwa hapo juu.


Vijana walikubali kuelezwa kutenda mambo mengi sana katika jamii bila ya maswali au ubishi wowote. Hata wakati walipoona mambo yamewawia magumu waliomba msaada kwa unyenyekevu mkubwa.


Watu walipomaliza shughuli zao za mchana, walikutana jioni na kuulizana habari za siku nzima na kuzungumzia mambo yaliyowahusu. Vijana walienda kucheza ngoma au kwenda kwa vikongwe kufunzwa mambo ya kuwakomaza kiakili. Walipozimaliza shughuli hizo zote za kila, mchana hawakuenda kulala bila kuwaaga wazazi wao vizuri wakinuia kukutana tena siku iliyofuata. Kilawalipoamka asubuhi waliwasalimu watu wazima na kujuliana hali kwa undani na kwa heshima ya kiwango cha juu sana. Wengine walizoea kuwapigia watu wazima magoti wakati walipokuwa wakiwasalimu. Kama palikuwa na tatizo, walishikana bega kwa bega kuliondoa.


Hapo kale hapakuwa na mtindo wa vijana kupiga malapa mitaani. Waovu walikuwa wachache na waliweza kuadhibiwa na yeyote hata kama ni mtoto wa watu wote. Hakuna kijana aliyetoka kwao na kulala nje bila idhini ya wazazi wake na kama msichana angeweza kufanya hivyo, wazazi wangeweza kumlazimisha arudi alipokuwa na kurudi na huyo mtu waliyekuwa naye.


Siku hizi,mambo yamebadilika. Unaweza kuona vioja vya Firauni kama mzee mmoja aliyeshangaa kumwona kimwana kimemshikia kiuno mtu wa makamo huku kikinyumbua vilivyo. Alitazama filamu hiyo ya bure , mtu mzima kuadhiriwa mbele ya umati watu. Alibaki akijiwazia kuwa mtoto huyu hakuwa na kaba ya ulimi na kutegemea kuwa siku moja asiyefunzwa na mamaye atafunzwa na dunia. Alikumbuka enzi zake za ujana na kujisemeza, "Lo! Ingekuwa ni wakati wetu sisi mtoto huyu angekiona kilichomkosesha kuku


matiti!" Alipoona watu wanazidi kupazingira mahali pale, alienda zake kwa hasira huku akifyonza na kuulaani utamaduni wa kigeni uliobadilisha ule wa asili uliokuwa unadumaza.
